ESOL for Construction
ESOL for Construction (English for Speakers of Other Languages) is designed for learners who want to work safely and confidently in the construction industry. This course focuses on developing the essential English language skills needed to understand and communicate key health and safety information on site.
During the course, students will learn the meanings of common construction terms, safety signs, and instructions used in day-to-day site work. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding toolbox talks, site rules, risk awareness, and clear communication with supervisors and colleagues.
This course is an essential step for learners progressing onto our CSCS package, supporting them to successfully complete the training required to obtain the Green CSCS Labourer Card. By improving listening, speaking, reading, and vocabulary skills specific to construction, students gain the confidence to follow instructions, ask questions, and work safely.
ESOL for Construction helps ensure learners can protect themselves and others on site, meet industry expectations, and take their next steps towards employment in construction.
