Who is this qualification for?
The qualification meets the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements for training first aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment. It will also ensure your first-aiders are approved to deliver first aid for 3 years, after which they will need to retake the course.
How long will it take?
To complete this emergency first aid at work qualification learners should expect to undertake 22 hours of learning, typically over three days.
Topics covered
The roles and responsibilities of a first-aider. Assessing an emergency safely. CPR & AED. Administering first aid to a chocking casualty. Putting a casualty in the recovery position, dealing with shock, burns, scalds, bleeds and minor injuries. Using adrenaline auto-injectors.
Assessment method
Practical demonstration and multiple-choice exam.
